Christ gave His followers the commission to proclaim the gospel in all parts of the earth, and besides preaching, what better way to proclaim the gospel message and the good news of Jesus than through music, a language that transcends many cultural barriers? The Praise Him Music Network is Internet-based and has a worldwide audience. As part of the 3ABN family of networks, we are the first 24/7 Seventh-day Adventist music network of our kind. We have the privilege of communicating the truth of God’s Word and His loving character while uplifting the hearts of people worldwide. “We aim to bring encouraging, joyful, sacred music to every home in hopes of leading them closer to Jesus,” says Tim Parton, general manager for the Praise Him Music Network.

Purpose of Auditions

This musical feat surely cannot be done by just a few, which is why the Praise Him Music Network is soliciting your help to make it a reality. Our goal is to include as many talented and skilled musicians/singers as possible who want to share their gifts for the Lord.

“We believe that some of the most incredible talent in the world is found within the Adventist community,” Tim says. “God has truly gifted His people, and He desires those gifts to be used for His Glory.” By conducting auditions at universities, we encourage our church youth to become musically involved in the mission of the Advent movement.

“We’re cooperating with Adventist Colleges and Universities in hopes of involving musicians, singers, photographers, and videographers in producing quality content for our network,” says Ryan Day, assistant to the general manager of the Praise Him Music Network. Upon review, individuals and groups will be selected to partner with us in producing high-quality musical content for the network. By airing it around the world, our viewers will be blessed, and we will bring glory to our Mighty God!

What to Expect at the Audition

Here’s a general breakdown of the audition process, if you choose to participate:

• Plan ahead! Each artist will be asked to perform one song of their choice to showcase their musical gifts to the best of their ability. We ask you to prepare three songs of varying tempos and styles. (Please limit your musical choices to the inspirational/Christian categories.)
• If you are an instrumentalist, please bring your own instrument. A piano will be provided for your accompanist. A CD player will be also be available if you use a soundtrack.
• Plan to arrive a few minutes before your scheduled audition time. This will ensure a smooth transition between auditions.
• Come prepared. Each soloist or group will be given 10–15 minutes to perform, and time will be of the essence! Once your allotted time is up, we will move on to the next participant. We want to respect everyone’s time and provide equal opportunity for all.
• The Praise Him Music Review Committee will notify each participant of the final selection results after an equal assessment of each performance. Please allow at least 2 weeks for this process.
